Celebrating 140 years of St. Edward's University

This year's homecoming on the hilltop marked a very special milestone -- 140 years of St. Edward's University. Alumni, students, faculty, staff and others in the hilltop community came together for a weekend of celebrations around the theme "Rooted in Resilience." A lot has changed in Austin and at St. Edward's in 140 years, but the Hilltopper spirit remains steadfast and stronger than ever.

Goat Yoga

Members of the hilltop community gathered by Fondren Fountain to kick off their weekend with a guided yoga practice while friendly baby goats provided an extra dose of cuteness to the class. Some goats chose to take restorative yoga poses while others chose to take their Hilltopper name seriously and climb atop the human Hilltoppers for an extra challenge.

Parade

The homecoming parade celebrated a small but mighty milestone of 5 years! Students, alumni, faculty staff and Austin community organizations showed their blue and gold pride through outfits, banners, dances, cheers and more. The parade returned to its original route along Moody Drive, taking participants through the heart of campus and ending near the Recreation and Athletic Center, just in time for the community BBQ.

Community BBQ

Members of the SEU community, their families and friends gathered together on Andre Lawn to enjoy great conversation, delicious food and fun activities. Hilltopper cheerleaders came out to perform and lead the crowd in a few cheers ahead of the athletic games of the day.

Women's Basketball Game

The St. Edward's University women's basketball team kicked off its 2025-26 season with a 75-54 Homecoming exhibition victory over Our Lady of the Lake University.

Men's Basketball Game

The St. Edward's University men's basketball team lit up the scoreboard at their Homecoming game, topping Huston-Tillotson 107-62 and marking their second consecutive exhibition game of 100 points or more.

Casino Night

A homecoming classic, Casino Night returned for a lavish night under the stars. Attendees spent the evening play exciting casino games, connecting with friends and dancing the night away. The homecoming royal and noble court winners were crowned and the Topper Cup winners were announced and received the coveted trophy.

Drone Show

This year's festivities wrapped up with a very special drone show to cap off a year of celebrating the university's 140th anniversary. Viewers sat in front of Main Building and were treated to an array of St. Ed's imagery in the night sky, with the downtown Austin skyline situated as an illuminating backdrop.
